Chassis Intruded! Fatal Error … System halted

If you're randomly and repeatedly getting a BIOS error when booting an aging PC saying

Chassis Intruded! Fatal Error … System halted

but you never set it up for chassis intrusion dectection, just replace the (usually) CR2032 cmos battery on the mainboard. Big chance it is close to being completely drained and causing this error.
